Uniquely
situated in the geographic center of Scottsdale, the 25 square miles of
the McDowell Mountains are home to cactus forests, diverse and abundant
wildlife and a great number of exotic plant life just waiting for your
guests to discover. McDowell Mountain Hikes frequently are led by
a member of the McDowell Sonoran Land Trust, providing fascinating facts
about the landscape and the history of the area. A portion of the fees
from this activity is donated to support the efforts of the McDowell Sonoran
Land Trust.

Half
Day - Cave Creek The Cave Creek Trail System offers many
shaded and scenic trails to explore. Hidden streams and even waterfalls
are numerous in the spring of the year. The riparian ecology of Cave Creek
and Blue Wash offer exotic plant life, dazzling geological formations and
traces of ancient indian civilizations. Combine this hike with a mountain
bike ride or a kayak trip for a full day adventure. A completely
different hike in a beautiful desert riparian setting.
Full Day - Supersition Wilderness For the group that has a
full day to fill, the Superstition Mountains offer the ultimate hiking
experience. Search for the Lost Dutchman Gold Mine, encounter the
rugged wildness of towering mountain peaks, and gain an appreciation for
the undiscovered treasures these mountains hold. This tour can also
be combined with a kayak trip on Apache Lake and lunch. |

The outing
was great. The equipment, guides and terrain were super. It was great to
get out of Phoenix and experience the desert for an afternoon. Thanks
for a great outing.
