Part of the grandeur of the Sonoran desert is its many different aspects--scenic vistas, intimate details, exotic landscapes, creatures and plants. In this journey participants will explore different compositional methods and experiment with a variety of lighting situations to make “images with impact.” "You don't take
a photograph, you make it." - Ansel Adams This workshop will involve our guests with the elements of making, archiving and sharing creative images. The subject matter can include natural and urban landscapes, architecture studies and candid and formal portraiture. Tips and techniques for making vacation pictures worth seeing is our aim. Cameras, printers and laptop computers can be provided for digital photography workshops or guests can work with their own equipment. Workshops are led by Dennis Carr, director of High Sonoran Adventures, who holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from Carnegie Mellon University as a Buhl Fellow for Advanced Visual Studies. Dennis is published in several books on the American Southwest and has directed several film on Native Americans under grants from the National Endowment for the Humanities. Workshops
include an online forum membership for posting of pictures
